Poverty: Images from Guatemala, Brazil, and South Africa

The point of this photo essay is to draw parallels between poverty in different places in the world. These photographs were taken in Guatemala, Brazil, and South Africa, yet they all look to be taken in the same place. I find that aspect very interesting. It is for this reason that I will not label each photograph as being from a specific place -- because poverty hurts people in the same way no matter their geographic location.

It is my hope that perhaps in the comments section of this photo essay, we can get some conversation (and guesses) going.
