Tweeting the Terror

The internet, electronic communication and social media are forever changing how news is distributed and how quickly, while raising questions to how accurate all the information is.  Read the CNN.com article discussing how users on the new social media network Twitter reacted to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.  Twitter, which allows users to publish one to two line blog posts, received millions of "Tweets," from eye witness account updates, to requests for blood donors.  However, with 6 million users registered, the article explains, most of the tweets "amounted to unsubstantiated rumors and wild inaccuracies."
