Obama to Hold Prime-Time News Conference

"President Obama will hold his first formal White House press conference on Monday, his spokesman announced, in a prime-time appearance that is designed to help explain his economic recovery plan to the nation.

Mr. Obama also will address a joint session of Congress on Feb. 24, aides said Thursday, which will essentially take on the flavor of a State of the Union address. The speech comes after he presents his budget to Congress for the next fiscal year."
